Premenstrual syndrome (PMS) 

Use antispasmodic oils such as Marjoram, Lavender and Chamomile.

Women whose menstrual flow is normal or heavy, please avoid using antispasmodic oils which are emmenagogic (i.e. they induce menstrual flow) that may cause the period to become very heavy,
e.g. Clary Sage, Myrrh, Sage, Rosemary, Basil, Juniper, and Fennel.

Women whose menstrual flow is abnormally heavy, please try adopting oils with regulating effects.
e.g. Cypress, Geranium, Rose, Clary Sage, Geranium, Rose, Roman Chamomile, German Chamomile, Geranium, Rose, Marjoram, Lavender (antispasmodic oils)

Menopause

What is Menopause?

Menos = month
Pausos = ending

Actual menopause is the point when a woman experiences her last period and has no further bleeding for 12 months. The whole process may take one to a few years, hormonal essential oils will be a good companion along the way. It is a naturally occurring phase of a woman's life, not something to be fixed or altered, just embraced
Aromatherapy was more likely to be used for anxiety, mood swing, and hot flashes during menopause. 

Physical symptoms of Menopause

-  Sleep disturbances
- Anxiety with no discernible cause
- Inability to concentrate and or forgetfulness
- Mood swings
- Changes in cycle – shorter / longer
- Heavier or lighter bleed
- Loss of libido
- Vaginal dryness

Aromatherapy was more likely to be used for anxiety and hot flashes. Evidence review shows that essential oils affect hormonal neurotransmitter levels with noted improvements in menopausal symptoms.

Andropause

Andropause is low testosterone.
Andropause in men is the same as menopause in women
Testosterone level decreases production gradually beginning around 30, approximately 30% of men in their 50 will experience andropause symptoms such are chronic fatigue, depression, a reduced sex drive, and erectile dysfunction. Essential oils will support men's health distress and regulate the testosterone level naturally.
